ABOUT THE ARTIST: Alyson Weege was born in Redwood City California and currently resides in Havre De Grace Maryland. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in 1978. Following her undergraduate work she completed a Post-Graduate Study in Painting at the Art Institute of Chicago and received her Masters of Fine Arts Degree from the George Washington University in 1981. In 2004 she was awarded an Individual Artists Grant from the Maryland State Arts Council and has received recognition for her still life and figurative paintings, which often include references to the horse. She has exhibited her work in shows throughout the United States and has been reviewed in numerous publications including Art In America and Art Papers. In 2001 she was selected by Howard Fox, Curator Los Angeles Museum of Art for inclusion in the publication "New American Paintings" Volume 27, 2001.
